Automated prediction of health and welfare in captive fish using behaviour from video

Come join us to work on this exciting project, a new direction for the lab! It’s an interdisciplinary project applying computer vision and machine learning to automate detection of poor health and welfare in captive fish. The student will spend 50% of their time at Bristol (with me and Prof. Andrew Dowsey) and Swansea universities (with Prof. Carlos Garcia De Leaniz and his collaborators).

Application deadline is likely to be December 2023. For more detail, including how to apply, visit the BBSRC SWBio website: I’ll post the link to the full project description when it goes live online.
